The Starlit Room

My 9-month-old son was fascinated by the moving stars and moon from the projector that his father had given him. I joined in on his star-catching game as I saw him get thrilled about capturing the stars that were moving about the room.

The ceiling with the stars and moon took me back several years to the day I first arrived in this city. I'd travelled from my hometown to this 'city of opportunities' to attend an interview. The interview went well, but there was a catch: I had to start working for the company in two days. So the next step was to tackle the most challenging task. i.e. finding a place to stay.

My mum and I must have visited "n" different places. We couldn't pick any because some were too crowded and others were too far away to commute.

Finally, I discovered a three-bed room near my office. When I walked into the room, I spotted a curly-haired girl with spectacles and a bouncy one with a smile on her face. I spotted the Stars and Moon on the ceiling and noticed how clean the place was. I made up my mind that this is where I'm going to spend the remainder of my days in this big city.

The curly-haired girl who spends her days coding on her laptop and the bubbly one who can't stop talking! This was my first impression of my roommates. Over time I realized that my spectacled friend is a strong person. She supports you with all her heart and believes that nothing is impossible in this world if you put your mind to it.

The one with a smile was the reason my stay in the city became eventful. Each weekend when both of us (me and my coding friend) decided to laze around in our room, she came and urged us to go see exciting places. For the most two precious people I got from this city, I am glad that I chose the room with the star and the moon.
